Illinois state lawmakers receiving eviction notices
A couple of weeks ago we learned that the state of Illinois is facing almost certain financial disintegration because of decades of Democrats’ shockingly irresponsible government spending. It’s gotten so bad that now Illinois state lawmakers are receiving eviction notices on their local offices:
The state’s money problems are so bad that lawmakers are getting [...]

Larry Summers would like to be anywhere else but there
I caught this picture on the front page of the New York Times‘ website in an article about President Obama’s budget:
The first thing I noticed was Larry Summers. He’s the only one of the president’s aids who doesn’t have his hands clasped together in front of him. His facial expression says he’s disinterested. He’s [...]

Barack Obama finally admits: Ten year deficits will explode to $9 trillion
In an act of sheer cowardice, Barack Obama dropped this little nugget on the American people just as he headed off to a ten day vacation:
The Obama administration will raise its forecast for the 10-year federal budget deficit to about $9 trillion from $7.1 trillion, a senior administration official said.
The White House will try [...]

AIP column: Michigan’s central planning failures
Michigan’s unemployment rate is 15.2%, the highest in the nation. Back in the 1990’s our state’s unemployment rate consistently below the nation’s average and for good reason. Its laws and regulations were business and family friendly. However, when Governor Jennifer Granholm got on the scene, the economy took a turn for the worse. Unfortunately, the [...]

CBO: Federal budget on an unsustainable path
We knew this already. At least those of us who live and function in reality knew this already. AIP column: A second stimulus? No way. Cancel the first one.
In my AIP column today, I discuss the possibility of a second stimulus. Even though Barack Obama says he’s not interested right now, many others are, including Laura D’Andrea Tyson, one of his economic advisors. Instead of a second stimulus that would only send more money down the drain, we should cancel the remainder of [...]

AIP Column: The UK’s National Health Service and the Ford Pinto School of Cost Analysis
The UK’s National Health Service is racking up serious negligence claims filed by families of those patients who have suffered and/or died at the hands of its government run health care. Right now, those claims are at £2.2 billion (about $3.6 billion), with half of those claims come from maternity cases alone. With the government [...]

I need to send copies to Barack Obama
My books arrived. I ordered three books from Amazon and they arrived today. Tonight once the kids are in bed I’ll be curled up in my bed with my little book light, highlighter, and pens all set so I can learn at the feet of the great one: Dr. Thomas Sowell. I ordered two [...]

The big tax break: $13 a week
Remember the big tax break Barack Obama said he was going to give 95% of the American people? This big tax break will give you an extra $13 a week in June. But don’t get too excited, that reduces to $8.00 in January.
Stimuluspalooza!
Obama said he would bring change. Ha! So what will you do [...]
