Homeland Security, I thought, is supposed to recognize threats by being on alert to such things. WTF?! The US Military and the FBI acted negligently by ignoring the red flags of blatantly obvious clues (questionable and erratic behavior/comments/internet usage/actions/devout Muslim, etc., let alone the conflict of interest in deploying him to fight for the USA against his own kind) that Nadir Malik Hasan was not fit to continue to serve. I cannot imagine how hurt I would have been to have this happen to one of my family members and be waiting for the Commander-in-Chief to speak some words of comfort--only to have him blather on for several minutes about a conference?!?!?! Hello?!?!?! Not only that, but the person he gave the shout out to, was NOT a medal of honor winner. He was a Congressional Gold Medal and Presidental Medal of Freedom winner. The Congressional Medal of Honor is the highest honor a veteran can be given. You would think the Commander-in-Chief would know that.
