Thank you, President Bush

thnx-bushToday Barack Obama was inaugurated but I feel a sadness pressing down on me because President Bush is leaving office completely unappreciated. So many in the media have beaten him down, maligned, insulted, besmirched, and belittled him. And for what?

He kept us safe the past seven years since 9/11. During his administration, he was forced to make some very difficult decisions to keep us safe, some of which were very unpopular. But he made anyway them because he thought they were right. I respect that. In fact, I admire that.

There are millions of other people outside the US whose lives are better because of President Bush.

Fifty million Iraqis are free of the tyranny and torture of Saddam Hussein. They now have the government they want because of him.

Al Qaeda, the terrorists who tried to destroy us and our country, is dead. It’s nothing but a shell of its former self because of him.

AIDS and malaria in Africa, the first president to do so. Millions of Africans are alive today because of him.

So today I want to say thank you, President Bush. I appreciate how hard you worked to keep us safe from terrorism.

You can offer your thank yous to President Bush here.

Unfortunately, the Bush haters can’t let go of their hate. I wrote about them at a post at Wizbang.
