President Bush awards the Presidential Medal of Freedom

Two of the awardees will always be remembered for their ability to withstand unbearable pressure to surrender to Islamofascism but refused to, even when it meant sinking their political careers. For that we will be forever grateful. The third is the president of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe, whom President Bush wanted to honor for his tireless fight against the Colombian drug cartels, which are legendary for their ruthless violence.

It must have been an emotional moment for President Bush to present all three of these awards, Tony Blair’s and John Howard’s especially, since these are his last and both those men were instrumental in helping us fight the war on terror.
