I am so psyched about this. It’s brilliant. In one fell swoop, John McCain usurped Barack Obama’s mantra of hope and change.

The story from Fox News:

John McCain will introduce Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his vice presidential running mate at an event here at noon Friday, senior campaign sources confirmed to FOX News.

Palin emerged earlier in the day as the hot name in the vice presidential sweepstakes after reports circulated that two short-listers — Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty — were out of the running.

Adding fuel to the Palin candidacy was a report that a charter aircraft from Anchorage owned by a McCain supporter had arrived at a small airport outside Dayton, Ohio, where McCain has scheduled a noon ET rally to announce his choice.

FOX News reported the jet flew to Flagstaff, Ariz., on Thursday before heading landing in Middletown, Ohio.

Palin will now travel with McCain on the bus from the hotel to the rally where he will introduce her to the nation.

Woo hoo!! Check out all the great posts at Wizbang.

I have to agree, she is a wonderful choice. In addition to her political accomplishments and anti government corruption stance, she is a mother of 5 – one in the military and a new born with Down syndrome. I have to say she more than doubles my enthusiasm for McCain.

This is an EXCELLENT choice. So exciting for the GOP. I do find it interesting that Democrats, even Obama, seem to be questioning her “experience.” You must be kidding me :)

To anyone proud of and defending the choice of Sarah Pallin, the hunter -

i am a conservative closest to libertarian i guess. i have always voted republican or libertarian and now no way will i vote for Mccain because he chose someone who murders innocent creatures, takes pleasure in causing the death of innocent animals. utterly sickening, disgusting, heartbreaking – bizarre. did you know Clint Eastwood, from what i’ve heard, a conservative republican is vegan and have you heard of Matthew Scully, George Bush’s former speech writer? he wrote an amazing must read; “Dominion, The Power of Man and The Suffering of Animals”. Please google ‘Matthew Scully” and read this most amazing and thought-provoking book. i have tried so hard to make it clear to everyone that republicans are not for torture and suffering and murder of animals. the sooner Pallins ugly cruelty is off the radar the better. oh and by the way, i also heard something horrible about Michelle Obama, that she worked to support vivisection? can anyone verify this?

I am sickened and saddened beyond words at the choice of a cold-blooded murder of innocent animals as V.P. for the republican party. God help us all.

If a man aspires towards a righteous life, his first act of abstinence is from injury to
    animals. –Albert Einstein

No humane being, past the thoughtless age of boyhood, will wantonly murder any
creature which holds its life by the same tenure that he does. –Henry David Thoreau

“Thou shalt not kill” does not apply to murder of one’s own kind only, but to all living
beings; and this Commandment was inscribed in the human breast long before it was
    proclaimed from Sinai. –Leo Tolstoy

    Woops – (sorry) Title Correction:

The title of a must read for all, by George Bush’s former speech writer, Matthew Scully (matthewscully.com) is “Dominion, The Power of Man, The Suffering of Animals and The Call for Mercy.”

God help us all if people are so blind to the suffering of God’s creatures great and small.

    Margaret,

She came from the state of Alaska, and as for the “nude” photos, I don’t buy it. Besides why should you care? You’re in the UK. And if “everything” you’ve heard is from the American media, then it’s most likely not true.
